Peter Sirr

                        Aquí viví
tal vez un minuto de mi mente
suficiente
para que todo sea claro
los  muebles, la luz de la mañana
                                                           los sueños

las agonías
de lo posible

o, al menos, los lentos días extendiéndose
en la vida elegida

Acosado por esta calle
camino
recordando otra ciudad
recordándote

toda nuestra vida desplegada ante nosotros
en ese momento

y ahora de vuelta
aquí

Aquí también las calles se llenan
de vidas posibles
y de cada una
me alejo
subiendo a la deriva

como suben los globos sobre...
—¿era Koblenz?—
en elevado silencio

En la autopista
ahora
una cesta de mimbre en un trailer
yendo a casa

pero en el campo
las manos —mías, tuyas—
chorreando burbujas
se estiran hacia las sogas
y entonces
y ahora
en seda hundida
nuestros cuerpos apaciguados

   *  *  *

oh, ¿por qué
no me quedé?

Trepé hacia ti
con persistencia, y tú

volviste la cara y te acercaste,
tu voz

derramada en mi boca
Ningún silencio, es cierto, que no te pronunciara

ningún azul ni gris ni lluvia ni estación
pero arrasaste

la delgada cortina de la luz
y cosiste mis ojos al día vencido

Koblenz, maybe

Here / I have lived / maybe one minute in my mind / enough / for everything to be clear / furniture, morning light / dreams // agonies / of the possible // or, at last, the slow days unfolding / in the decided life // Haunted by this street / I walk / remembering another town / remembering you // our whole life spread before us / in that moment // and now returned / here // Here too the streets swell / with possible lives / and from each one // I lean out / drifting up // like the baloons over — / was it Koblenz? — / in their high quiet // Or the motorway / now / a wicker basket on a trailer / speeding home // but in the field / the bubble descending / hands —mine, yours — / stretching for the ropes / and then / and now / in plunged silk / our bodies stilled. /// oh why did I not / stay? // I climbed towards you / persistently, and you / you turned your faced and leaned / all the way over, your voice // spilled into my mouth / No silence, true, that does no utter you // no blue no grey no rain no season / but you have ravaged // the light’s thin curtain / and stitched my eyes to the fallen day
